NESN’s Jerry Remy, who has been off of the NESN Red Sox telecasts for much of this season while recovering from complications following offseason lung cancer surgery, posted an audio Tweet today thanking everyone for their support and stating that he hopes to be back in the booth very soon.

We hope so too.

During his absence, Remy’s Twitter page has been regularly updated.

  1. I hope the upshot of Remy’s absence is a greater appreciation for what we have in Don Orsillo. He has single handedly kept many Sox broadcasts afloat while working with a revolving door of color guys, many of whom are either not ready for prime time or not suited for the job in the first place. Orsillo has certainly earned his pay this season.
