Dave Goucher has been the radio play-by-play voice of the Boston Bruins for 11 years.
A native of Pawtucket, Goucher is a 1993 graduate of Boston University, where he also began his broadcast career, calling two years of Terrier hockey and football for the BU radio station. He spent five years as voice of the Providence Bruins of the AHL, including the team’s 1999 Calder Cup Championship run. He became the Boston Bruins radio voice on WBZ radio in 2000, replacing Bob Neumeier. Goucher has been named New England’s top radio play-by-play announcer by the Associated Press three times (2003, 2006, & 2007) and won the AP “Best Sportscast” award in 2006. He’s done work for NHL Radio in the past, doing the “Game of the Week” for Westwood One.
His no-nonsense, understated style stands in sharp contrast to the TV stylings of Jack Edwards, and his chemistry with analyst Bob Beers is about as good as it gets. This spring he’s done frequent appearances on WBZ-FM to talk about the team, and did an interview with Chad Finn last month as well.

I don't listen to the Bruins much on the radio, but when I do, it's an easy listen. Does great work as a PBP man and Beers is also very good. I also enjoy his interviews on 98.5 when talking about the B's.

I approve all play-by-play announcers not named Jon Meterparel.

Don't know how anyone could possibly disapprove. Great play by play man.

In probably the most difficult sport to do radio play-by-play for, too.

No question – Goucher also calls the game fairly, even though it's obvious he wants the B's to win. Can't say that about several of the radio play-by-play voices around the league.
Am also glad he's calling this series and Bob Neumeier isn't. Neumy used to annoy the heck out of me by always referring to Vancouver as 'Van'. Goucher has proven it's not that difficult to fit those two extra syllables into the broadcasts.

Dave's very good. Came up the ranks. Did the Providence Bruins and called their Calder Cup Championship. Pronounces "O" the Canadian way despite being from Rhode Island, but it's that French-Canadian background.
Good guy and a very good announcer. Two thumbs up!

I'm of French-Canadian decent and pronounce my "O"'s the American way.

Approve approve approve. He’s just outstanding. I’ve listened to other radio PBP guys around the league and he is just head and shoulders above them. And the same goes for Bob Beers. Just a fantastic tandem.
