Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Celtics have come to an agreement to extend the contract of Head Coach Doc Rivers through the 2010-2011 season.

Nick Cafardo on the Boston.com Extra Bases Blog reports that NESN has signed play-by-play man Don Orsillo to an extension that takes him through the 2012 season. The deal also allows Orsillo to call postseason games for TBS.

  1. Is there any word yet on whether TBS-HD is available more this year than it was last year? I remember all the outrage between TBS and the cable operators–each pointing the finger at the other–for the relative sparse distribution of the HD version of TBS. Unless companies like Charter and Comcast have ironed things out with TBS, all I can say is, ‘Here we go again.’

    1. Chris, if you have the Comcast digital package you should be able to get the TBS playoff coverage in HD (I can’t speak for Charter). All of this season’s HD Sunday baseball broadcasts have been available.
