Wrapping up the Stadium talk

Wrapping up the Stadium talk is a couple articles from the Projo. From yesterday, Tom Curran isn’t up in a lather about that “major announcement” Monday night. Jim Donaldson…well, once again Jim Donaldson is playing mini-me to Dan Shaughnessy’s Dr. Evil. Michael Smith has a feature on Steve Martin, and a well done Notebook. Tom Curran’s notebook is also very informative. Kevin Mannix gets in his first second-guess at Belichick of the summer: “Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea for Bill Belichick to give the Patriots such an extended time away from training camp” Mannix also looks at Jarvis Green. George Kimball examines Damien Woody’s move from center to guard.

Steve Buckley welcomes Cliff Floyd to Boston, and in doing so manages to fit in the obligatory digs at Manny. Kevin Gray writes a better Cliff Floyd article than any of the Boston writers. Gordon Edes spins another curse theory. “Curse of the Guapo”. Oh Brother. Michael Gee says it’s gettin’ chilly, and last night it looked like the summer is over. Mike Shalin has Art Howe stumping for his guy, Barry Zito as Cy Young. Michael Vega has Tim Wakefield saying, “I pitched great, just made two mistakes…”

Bob Ryan, better than most, understands what made Chick Hearn great. No Boston media mention still of the Sam Cassell rumors.

NESN has Red Sox/A’s at 7:00. It’s also the ESPN game nationally. ESPN2 has Braves/Diamondbacks at 10:00. HBO has the second episode of “Hard Knocks” at 11:00.
