From NESN:

Last night’s 7-0 Bruins win over the Canadiens garnered a 6.6 household rating on NESN according to Nielsen, which is the highest rated regular season game in the network’s 27 year history covering the Bruins. NESN’s previous regular season ratings record was a 6.2 household rating for the March, 18, 2010 game when the Bruins played the Pittsburgh Penguins at TD Garden.

Against a very competitive network prime lineup, which included the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Bruins ranked #1 in the Boston DMA in Men 25-54, #2 in Adults 18-49 and #3 in Households and Adults 25-54.

NESN’s pre and post-game shows as well as NESN Daily also earned strong numbers.

WB Mason Bruins FaceOff LIVE       1.4 HH rating

Ace Ticket Bruins Overtime LIVE      5.3 HH rating (season best)

NESN Daily                                        2.7 HH rating

  1. That's great for NESN, as I know some of those spots were make-goods for the underperformance of the 2010 Red Sox.

    1. NESN is praying that the Sox aren't as devastated by injuries as they were last year. And so am I, really…

  2. Not related to the topic above, I heard earlier today that Adam Jones (aka the Felger Clone) is leaving 98.5. Guess Dan Shaughnessy will have to find a new assistant for his Saturday morning show.

In others comings & goings, former D&H producer James Stewart is now running the board on Felger & Mazz's show. Did "B Real" leave 98.5 as well?

    1. As a follow-up, Dan Shaughnessy did his last Saturday morning show on 98.5 today. He says he'll still be involved on some of the Sports Hub's other shows, but decided to move on to 'other ventures' (as he put it), as the minor tweakings continue over on Leo Birmingham Parkway.

Personally, I think a 98.5 weekend baseball show with some combination of Dan Roche, Sean McAdam and Jerry Trupiano would be good. I assume EEI/CSN is bringing their Saturday baseball show back, but wonder if McAdam's EEI defection is throwing a monkey wrench into the works.

      1. Jason, I believe it was already mentioned that EEI was not going to simulcast the Baseball Show this year. 98.5 may try to work a deal to simulcast.

        1. Thanks for the update mandb, I had not heard that. I still think a Sunday morning Roche/McAdam/Trupiano baseball show could give Dale & Buckley a serious run for their money, especially since I believe 98.5 still has their studio near Fenway.

          1. 98.5's studios were never near Fenway. They have always been in Brighton between the turnpike and that Staples, Martinetti/Marty's, McDonalds, and crappy hotel.

          2. 985 had a studio at the ace ticket store on Brookline Ave. Now that Ace is moving to Kenmore, their fenway studio is moving with them or somewhere else.

  3. So where is Adam Jones going, does anyone know if it was on his terms or was he forced out?

Also, I also noticed James Stewart on 98.5. Did EEI let him go after the breakup of D+H? Or was he irked by the move so decided to leave?

    1. According to his twiiter page (adamjonesESPN), Adam's starting a new show on ESPN Boston beginning April 8. I heard his last show with Felger and Mazz. Didn't sound like he was forced out, just moving on to something better.
