The bigger story this morning involved Celtics captain Paul Pierce, who has opted out of the final year of his contract and will be a free agent when the period opens tonight at midnight.

  1. remember a few weeks ago when just about every sports media blowhard was going on, and on, and on, and on, saying David Ortiz was "washed up"? ……….funny….. they don't talk about that anymore…….the silence is deafening
