The Patriots continue their string of two-a-day practices to start training camp.

Glen Farley has Harrison still making an impact on Sanders. Ian R. Rapoport has home grown Ron Brace making a good impression in his first camp. Rich Garven has Brace impressing the Patriots inside and out so far in camp. Mark Farinella has Pierre Woods looking to build on last season.

Julian Benbow has a look at Chris Baker, one of the tights ends in camp looking to upgrade the position for the Patriots. Karen Guregian has Baker and Brady getting some one-on-one extra work time at practice yesterday. Tim Whelan Jr has Ray Ventrone again trying to find his way onto the roster. Ron Chimelis says that Michael Vick doesn’t appear to be a good fit here.  Adam Smartschan has Alex Smith trying to live up to the #80 jersey he’s been assigned.

Rapoport has the Patriots signing QB Andrew Walter yesterday. Guregian has Julian Edelman getting the rookie routine down.  Christopher Price has Edelman hoping to carve out a role for himself. Young has a look at what the ban on wedge formations will have on the kick return game. Farley has a look at former University of Maine safety Brandon McGowan and his chances at making the team.

The 50th Anniversary of the AFL and Patriots will be a running theme throughout the season. Mike Reiss this morning has  look at the humble beginnings of the Patriots. Reiss also has his all-time Patriots team and what he feels are the  Top five AFL moments.

Red Sox

Adam Kilgore has a look at new Red Sox slugger Victor Martinez and the impact his mother had at a critical time early in his career. John Tomase looks at how the slider has really brought Daniel Bard’s game to the next level. Daniel Barbarisi says that the new flexibility of the Red Sox lineup with Martinez makes them even more potent.

Tony Massarotti says that the toughest part of the Red Sox schedule is in front of them now. Michael Silverman says that it is time to watch out for the Rays, who have been treading water much of the season.
