The NHL awards are tonight, the Bruins have three finalists hoping to be rewarded for fine seasons: Defenseman Zdeno Chara is up for the Norris Trophy, Tim Thomas is a finalist for the Vezina Trophy as the top goaltender and Claude Julien in the running for the Jack Adams Award as the NHL’s best coach. Kevin Paul Dupont says that Chara has shown that he belongs with the top in the league. Stephen Harris has a look at the Bruins chances of taking home hardware this evening. The US Open starts today, and as of this moment, they are in a rain delay. Ron Borges says that the love-in for Phil Mickelson has already begun. Michael Whitmer says that Mickelson loves NY and the feeling is mutual. Whitner has players saying that Bethpage’s length isn’t a huge issue, the course is long, but it is fair.
