Eight Days Between Every Start Now?

Sox
The Sox got back on track with a big win last night. Yes that was Dan Shaughnessy filing the game story for the Globe. The CHB was pretty hard on the Sox and Pedro in his column yesterday, but gives Pedro his due today for a great outing, although he does remind us Pedro should have had plenty of gas.

Starting on eight days' rest, buoyant in the aftermath of his annual midsummer vacation in the Dominican Republic, Martinez picked up his 10th win and threw harder than he has for most of the season.

Jeff Horrigan recounts the action for the Herald, and has virtually the same line as Shaughnessy did:

Pitching on eight days rest and feeling good about himself after a break in the Dominican Republic, Martinez (10-3) displayed his best fastball of the year but was limited to six innings due to a high pitch count (115).

Horrigan says the extra perks and rest Pedro gets will likely pay off down the stretch.
