NESN will have regionally exclusive coverage of up to five first round playoff games between the Bruins and Detroit Red Wings.
In addition to first round game coverage, NESN will produce one-hour of pre and post-game shows before and after Boston Bruins playoff games throughout the playoffs.
Games two and five (if needed) of the first round will be broadcast on NBC. The rest of the games in the series will be on NESN.

It’s that time of year folks!…with the spotlight firmly on the Bruins.. gear up for another barrage of “Jack Edwards Bashing” (especially from D&C)
Jack Edwards is insufferable. The ‘Connecticut Skool of Broadcasting’ alum deserves the bashing he gets. But as for the Bruins, a ‘deep playoff run’ requires that they dispatch the Wings in less than seven games. Last year’s 7-act play versus Toronto notwithstanding, the Bruins will go nowhere fast if Detroit exhausts them.
Right, just like the first round against Montreal in 2011 as well. Going 7 in round one means they never go to cup finals, except the last two time they have gone to cup finals. Mick – here’s the great hockey analysis you’ve been asking for.
