What a difference a week makes. After seeing the Red Sox flop out of the gate, the Celtics fizzle down the stretch of the regular season, and the Bruins fall 0-2 to the hated Montreal Canadiens, things were pretty grim around here. Now the Celtics have finished off a four-game sweep of the (non)rival New York Knicks, the Red Sox are coming off of a 5-1 road trip, including a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and the Bruins have won three straight games, including two straight in overtime, to lead the Canadiens 3-2 in their first round series. Not a bad few days.  Not bad at all.

The ratings reflect this. Ken Fang over at FangsBites on BSMW, looks at how NESN and WCVB fared this weekend:

Stunning Ratings for Canadiens-Bruins & Celtics-Knicks

  1. So wait…does this mean the SKY is NOT FALLING. What the F@#k will I do with all the heavy duty umbrellas I bought last week. Perhaps I can listen to Felger who on his weekly spot with Matty on Kiss 108 (Taking the daughters to school they commandeered the radio) said that it was "a miserable weekend for Boston Sports". He thinks the Celtics are frauds, the Sox pretenders and he does not like the way the Bruins are playing. Phew for a moment there I had thought I was going to lose money on all those umbrellas I bought.

    1. D.B. Felger really said that? Actually for him it probably was a miserable weekend. If all three teams had lost, he would have loved it. I think Steve from Fall River is his scriptwriter.

      1. He did say it. He also said he was impressed with Dice K's last two starts but he needs to see more to be convinced. He wants to see the Celtics play a real opponent. He wants to see the Bruins actually win the series against Montreal before he gets excited. Matt Segaloff (my spelling is probably wrong) poked fun at Felger and his negativeness. He used Felger complaining about having Easter Brunch with his kids (which Felger claims he did not enjoy…because no one ever enjoys meals with their kids in his world) as a metaphor for Felgers outlook on life. Quite apt if you ask me.

  2. Interesting because Felger, like many media "experts" affirmed that the Knicks were probably the best of the lower seeded teams in the playoffs and had a serious shot at beating Boston. The Felgerista has some serious depression issues, if ya ask me.

    1. Felger doesn't know whether a basketball is inflated or stuffed. I would value my dog's opinion more than Felger's. And I'm waiting with bated breath to hear his expert opinion on Dice-K.
