NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, earned a 9.4 household rating in the Boston DMA for the first game of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal against the Montreal Canadiens. This is the third highest Bruins game rating in NESN’s 25 year history behind only the 2004 Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Game 7 (11.2) and the 2008 Eastern Conference Quarterfinal Game 7 (10.1).
NESN’s ratings in the key demographic categories were also very impressive, as the network garnered a 6.5 for Adults 18-49, 7.6 for Adults 25-54, 10.6 for Men 25-54 and 4.8 for Women 25-54. Thursday’s Bruins broadcast also ranked as the 2nd highest program in the Boston DMA.
“We are thrilled about last night’s rating,” said NESN president Sean McGrail. ”It’s clear that Boston is supporting the Bruins and we look forward to delivering the comprehensive coverage that Bruins fans have come to expect on both NESN and NESN.com.”
NESN will deliver regionally exclusive coverage of every game during the Bruins first round playoff series against the Montreal Canadiens. Game #2 is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th at 8:00 PM. Coverage begins at 7:00 PM with a special one-hour edition of WB Mason Bruins Face-Off LIVE.
