NFL Labor Talks Nearing End?

Is there a deal, or will the latest news of the NFL players and owners being close to a new labor deal also turn out to be more false hopes?

Chris Mortensen on ESPN Radio this morning reported news of an agreement in principle on a new CBA, which is to be voted on by the owners tomorrow.

ProFootballTalk.com has more on the latest news regarding the negotiations, including word that this agreement could be hotly contested among the owners, and that Bob Kraft in particular could have strong objections to the “Cash over cap” revenue sharing proposal. The New York Sports News page has more on the NFL labor situation.

Peter King’s Monday Morning QB looks hour-by-hour at the negotiations yesterday and last night.

Michael Hiestand reports in USA Today that Peter Gammons will join Jon Miller and Joe Morgan on the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball broadcasts this season. At this point, it is not clear whether Gammons will be in the booth, or used in some other capacity during the games.
