  1. Ugh Adam Jones to replace DA?? No thanks. I found him to be a Felger clone who irritated me when he did weekend stints on 98.5 before moving to ESPN. I wouldn’t mind Rich Keefe but I would prefer someone from out of market.

    How do we know what’s missing once he’s gone and then too late to reverse course? Probably for the best to keep him there because he works.

    Jack Edwards? Crazy but I’d be interested to hear it. Partner him with the strong hockey contingent @ TSH and I’d love to listen. How well it would work if he’s trying to talk NFL? I have no clue.

    Are they drug testing management there? I thought it was a long-standing policy to not hire WEEI retreads?

    I think you need a very specific type of person for something in the evening. So many stations just park their “guy who fills in” from 6-10 because they have hit their career ceiling, won’t go anywhere else, and generate enough to keep whatever rating is needed alive outside the games.

  4. I think Meter is the leading candidate to replace Gil Santos. Maybe this is how CBS brings him into the fold.
    Jack Edwards is compelling, but I would have expected to hear him on some weekend shifts first.
    As soon as the job opened up, I thought Jones would be the guy.

  5. Just pulled up CBS Pittsburgh to listen to an interview that Filliponi did, and he sounds JUST like DA. Count me in for that guy… I thought it was great when the Sports Hub brought in DA as an outside guy last time, and it obviously worked and he was promoted to national. Would like to see them do it again. Having a mix of inside and outside people keeps things fresh, in my humble opinion.
