      1. I turned on D&C in the car this morning and , of course, they were talking about Bryant. I'm no fan of Bryant's work and think what he did (allegedly) is cowardly and dispicable, but why is this the main story for two days? Grapefruit league games have begun, the Celtics just made a huge trade, the Bruins are playing well…pathetic. WEEI has been #1 for so long that they have grown accustomed to playing out their vendettas and inside jokes on the air without impacting ratings. Not anymore…

  3. I was very much on the fence over the Perkins trade from Thursday afternoon right through last evening. Then I saw Felger and the CHB go off on a shared, completely hysterical anti-trade rant for a good 5 minutes straight on Felger's weekly Sunday night Comcast show; that pretty much moved me off the fence and onto the "good move, Danny" side. If those two miserable gasbags are that fervently against something, then my instinct is to have the exact opposite reaction.

  5. Impressions from the first half-hour of the new Big Show:

    Same as the old Big Show, with Holley in the Little Chair. The elephant in the room is Ordway. He can't/won't change his act. If you didn't like the backslapping, blustery, bathroom joke Ordway from before, you won't like him with or without Holley. And if I'm not mistaken I detect that Holley won't be happy playing Billy Burt for long. The chemistry reminds me of James Franco and Anne Hathaway from last night. Felgie has absolutely nothing to worry about.

  6. I agree the "new" Big Show sounds like the one. However, to be fair, I think it's going to take a bit before Holley and Ordway get their version of "the Big Show" together. I grant you it sounds like the old show — and Ordway needs to let Holley TALK…but maybe they'll work on it. I certainly wouldn't write it off after just one day, that kind of radio chemistry does not just happen magically overnight.

    Felgie ought to worry if he keeps doing his shrill act with Yes Man Mazz for the forseeable future. He hates the Celtics, then the Bruins actually put a good win together and his reaction is "easy, dont jump on the Cup bandwagon just yet." It's so endlessly predictable what his reaction is going to be. At some point it's going to turn into white noise.

    1. Felger should definitely worry. His contrarian act is wearing thin. His lack of knowledge about baseball and basketball is appalling. He's absolutely predictable, if it's raining he'll say it's a nice day. Mazz knows baseball, but little else, and does not seem to be a fan favorite. 98.5 took a big hit in the latest ratings.

      I think they need something. Perhaps one different co-host every day, but a good one, not LJ, rather than two. I think one of the things that made the show popular in the past was that it was different every day. The show seemed to lack humor, but maybe that's what the public wants. The bumpers to start new segments were horrible. I hope they change those right away.

  8. this is an ideal time for Felger and Mazz, but as DM says, that shrill act of Felger gets old real quick. Holley is a lightweight and belongs back on The View. He won't last, EEI is desperate, thats why Holley is there.
