It’s another busy sports morning here in Boston, as the Celtics continue their preparations for the start of the NBA Finals tomorrow night against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Cousy is pointed in praise of Rondo – What makes this Dan Shaughnessy column so great is that Dan just lets Cousy do the talking.

In sports history, nothing can rival it – Bob Ryan has a mega-feature on the history of the Celtics/Lakers rivalry.

That’s a nice 1-2 punch from The Boston Globe columnists this morning.

The Doctor at work – Paul Flannery with a look at how Doc Rivers’ plan for this postseason has played out.

War of words wages between Lakers and Celtics coaches – Steve Bulpett has Phil Jackson and Doc Rivers trading mind games.

Rivals to the core – Michael Muldoon also reviews Celtics/Lakers history. He also picks the Lakers in 7.

No missing stars this time for Celts, Lakers – Bill Doyle says that each time feels they should be working on a three-peat.

Celtics shrug it off – Ron Borges has the Celtics accepting their underdog role for the third straight series.

Celtics look to prove a few points in NBA Finals – Patrick Gilroy says that the Celtics are looking for vindication.

Rasheed Wallace hopes to practice today – Bulpett’s notebook has the Celtics reserve forward feeling better yesterday.

Peter King has spoken out on the Red Sox:

Theo Epstein has officially jumped the shark.Wed Jun 02 01:08:37 via TweetDeck

This was before the Red Sox put up nine runs in their last four innings to come back from a 4-0 deficit to beat the Oakland A’s 9-4at Fenway Park.

I’m not sure if King was dying to be hip by using that phrase (which is about 10 years out of date) and applying it to the Red Sox GM, or what.

The unexpected force: Beltre emerges as key lineup member – Alex Speier has the Red Sox third baseman helping the Sox with his bat as well as his glove.

Beltre, Martinez find their groove – Joe McDonald has Beltre and Victor Martinez (5 hits, 4 doubles last night) heating up.

Bruised Cameron needs further testing – Benjamin’s notebook has the outfielder needing more tests, this time in the opposite side of his abdomen.

Moss’ money grab is interesting – Tom E Curran says Randy Moss is a hypocrite for now wanting more commerical opportunities.

Randy Moss’ rarin’ to go – Ian Rapoport has more from his exclusive conversation with the Patriots receiver and his plans for the future.

WEEI’s Big Show with Glenn Ordway and Cedric Maxwell will be broadcasting from Los Angles this week to cover the NBA Finals. ABC has announced their coverage plans for the Finals:

NBA Finals Begin Thursday Exclusively on ABC

Comcast SportsNet will also have expanded coverage, with 25 hours of live coverage planned. A full schedule will be posted here a little later.

  1. Peter King jumped the shark after he stuffed his face full of popcorn during an "interview" with Jerry Jones on HBO's Hard Knocks.

    1. Probably so but I completely stopped reading him after he wrote (in detail) about his recent proctology exam… Or was it when he let readers in on his sexting with Brett Favre. Regardless of when it happened he's now merely an old gossipy type uncle. His only redemption is providing Kissing Suzy Kolber with great column material each Monday.
